Hello friends and family!
Thank you all for your prayers and concerns for myself and my Kenya missionary team. I am writing to let you all know that the decision was made to postpone our trip until a later, and hopefully safer time. If all is well, we are looking at June 17-July 1.
Please continue to pray for the nation of Kenya as well as the nearly 250,000 people who have been displaced. They have a long road ahead of them!

I read an article yesterday about a 74 year old grandmother who lost all of her children in the violence and is now responsible for her 22 grandchildren. They made it safely across the border but have not been able to receive enough food for all the children especially the youngest ones. It is heart wrenching to read about. It seems all the more real knowing it is happening in the very place where you are planning to go. I found that my thoughts and prayers today turned to Kenya and especially that grandmother.
We know that having your trip to Africa postponed must be very disapointing, but all of us who love you are relieved with that decision. When the Peace Corps pulls out of a place, you know it's not a time for any foreigners to be going in. We admire your heart for the people of Africa and Kenya in particular and will be joining you in prayer for them.

Grace! So good to "see" you! Glad that you are doing well. Isn't internet the greatest? I have been able to keep in contact that I never would have been able to other wise.
